Rain by Brooklyn Vega
Rain has been my lifelong friend There to welcome me into the world And there every birthday since She watches me in my sorrows And wraps me in warm hugs Like an old friend , she ’ s there for me When the people I love most aren ’ t Every time she comes crashing down I open my window , the warm wind That follows her flooding my room Filling every corner with a calming smell A smell that reminds me I ’ m not alone She reminds me of my sorrows Of the things I could have been She reminds me of the things that I can be Of the doors that have yet to be opened She reminds me that life can be brought to even the most brittle flower in the garden She holds my hand when nobody else will She sings away my blues with an upbeat melody When she leaves the next day A bittersweet feeling lingers in the air But I know she will be back again When she is truly needed Until that day comes , I ’ ll just sit and wait And sing that little melody she left behind
