Dear Readers,
A good friend once told me that change is the only constant in life. That’ s certainly true for 2017 as Eagle Magazine expands into an in-house marketing team emphasizing on content strategy, photography and internet marketing. It’ s just a fit to utilize our resources we’ ve gained over the years, and go the extra mile to think and create for the small business owner. We’ re having fun!
Now it’ s the magazine’ s turn: In this next issue, you’ ll find ways to improve your health and mindset by reading about local fitness establishments and setting goals with“ New Year, New You.” We’ ve also covered Rembrandts, which for months made residents curious with its ongoing construction. We’ re happy to say it’ s amazingly beautiful with incredibly kind owners and fantastic food. It may be a shift from what we were accustomed to, but that’ s just because we were accustomed to it. Now you have something new to dive into and cherish, like the“ Chicken Under a Brick”, which is out of this world.
Our most read articles are those of human interest, as you’ ll notice with Marcus Lenhardt who played tight end for Eagle High School and who has earned All-Frontier Conference three years in a row at College of Idaho. Maybe we’ ll see him in the NFL one day, as he continues to break many records at the College of Idaho. Secondly, it’ s exciting to cover the history of Eagle for those longtime residents, new transplants and visitors to give a glimpse into the past. Floating Feather Airport north of Eagle was in operation from World War II until the early 1970’ s, and was use for training pilots as a federal effort in case the US entered into the European War. In the 1940’ s a devastation occurred and lives were lost. Turn to page 30 for the whole piece.
We hope you enjoy, and happy reading!- Tia Markland-Crabtree, Publisher
