Meeting called to order by Wes Baker Carl Brown Carl reports that he was flying the Glasair into San Francisco, then to Ocean Shore, Seattle to Coeur Delaine where upon he lost power due to holes in top of crankcase, but he made it to Spokane for a landing. He will hire a company to help return the plane. Carl Bogardus - Hangar report: “We have more room”! Due to Carl Brown’s aircraft down in Spokane. Thank you to Bill and Ted for helping with hangar cleanup on Friday evening. Ken on website: New newsletter should be up soon. Waiex Project: Last night we got an e-mail from Mike Singleton. He is donating an air injector carburetor. This is the carburetor that Sonex builds for VW engines. He is also asking if there is anything else we need as he has some other stuff like control cables, etc. Status of project, Instrument panel is in permanently, windshield is done. Various metal parts under the windshield. Painting of glare shield and instrument panel soon. We have two swap-able instrument panels. Mel needs specs for power from the instrument panel. Engine is back together and ready to mount. Adding throttles and trim. Cowling ready to install. Need to do intake and exhaust. We need to sell the plane so that it can be flown. This must be done before January 1. Young Eagles: Had 22 YE's last Saturday October 8. Had a real nice turnout and five planes flying. Enthusiasm was high and we flew a few parents too. Congressman Steve Pearce made a presentation on October 22 about his solo flight around the world in a Mooney at hangar 745. Wes Baker and some other s went to Holoman for the Aviation Career Exposition. He thought it was a unique experience flying there too. We are trying to set up introduction to flight in November for the instructors at the Challenger Center. We hope generating interest for Young Eagles among the school instructors.
