As the number of injured men and women returning from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan grew , members of the firearms industry initiated a non-profit partnership called HAVA to aid disabled soldiers as they transition to their lives back in the United States .
The ultimate goal is to increase their confidence and hope for the future by reconnecting with their love of the outdoors and the American traditions of hunting and firearms .
HAVA ’ s Learn to Shoot Again Program
The Learn to Shoot Again Program is a new HAVA division that provides advanced and individual shooter adaptive training for significantly disabled military veterans and injured active duty military , who can no longer shoot conventionally due to their injuries .
These veterans have given their full measure of commitment to the preservation of their country ’ s values , and deserve America ’ s contribution to their healing process to whatever degree necessary to accomplish physical , mental and cultural rehabilitation .

HAVA was formed by companies in the shooting and outdoor industry to raise awareness and assist disabled veterans with their healing process . This healing is accomplished through guided hunts , shooting events and other outdoor sports activities .

These events feature an all-day festival of fun , firearms safety and free gifts . With hundreds of disabled veterans , spouses and kids attending , including over 100 volunteers , everyone enjoys the day , while giving back to these disabled veterans .
