Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

One of the best things about camping is that it can take you out of your comfort zone as you navigate unknown territory and explore new environments , both literally and figuratively . We all need to step outside of that zone , leave behind what ’ s familiar and safe , every once in a while . Because it ’ s when we challenge ourselves , when we push ourselves further than we thought we could go , that we grow . Being open to new experiences leads to learning and bigger knowledge of the world around us . If you ’ ve never gone camping before , just taking that first journey , no matter how near or far , can be exhilarating .
Undoubtedly , things will go wrong when you go camping . You get a flat tire or someone in your group gets injured . Believe it or not , all of this can be a good thing because it ’ s when things go wrong on the road and you rise to the challenge that you not only gain new life skills , but you also build your confidence and become a more capable human . You learn that zip ties and duct tape can be used for just about anything . You discover that breakdowns are an opportunity to spend a little more time enjoying the scenery at your current location . And every bump in the road , every obstacle you overcome , becomes a story to share with friends around a campfire and a lesson for the future . You draw on your experiences to make sure you don ’ t forget to pack your sleeping bag or you learn to identify poison oak before your next trip .
When you step outside of your comfort zone and embrace adventure , you are seizing life with both hands . You are stepping away from your ordinary to experience the extraordinary and this can be life changing . Camping has the power to transform us . Sound daunting ? Maybe a little , and that ’ s okay . You can ’ t experience all that life has to offer , or the benefits of camping , by staying where you are . So pack up your RV and head for the open road !
