The root of the word‘ Hybrid’ is‘ Hybrida, from Latin. The literal meaning of this word is‘ The child of a tame country pig and a wild boar’. In Engineering and Technology, Hybrid is the resulting effect of integrating two different processes for the purpose of getting the best of both the processes. In the last century bio-chemists experimented in producing offspring, resulting from the inter breeding between two species or plants and successfully produced new breeds with improved and desired qualities. The hybrid varieties in farm products are a boon to food grain productions. In the automobile sector, hybrids are common with cars that run both through electricity and gasoline, causing less pollution while being more fuel efficient.
