Travelogue of a Greek senior in Italy
1st week in Pesaro. The first impression of the city of Pesaro was excellent. It’s a very beautiful
coastal and clean city. Communication with the Italian friends was easy.
Our first day in Italy began in Montavio. A town in the province
Markeze near Pesaro, where we visited the City Hall, the Castle Della
Rovers. There we dressed up in traditional costumes. I loved the city,
the theater of Apollo and the local food. The night I enjoyed dinner at
Maria Barberini home in Pesaro but mostly the folkore music band
which played especially for us.
The next day we visited a nursing home in Santa Colombo. It was clean, neat and very well
organized allowing elder’s to develop their activities and to show their abilities.
The same evening BANCA DEL TEMPO (Women's Organization of Pesaro) organised an amazing
dancing evening, with traditional costumes and home
cooked food, prepared by the members of the
Organization.
We also visited the park of San Bartolo, and admired
the local flora and fauna, the villas of the Roman period
of Pavarotti etc. I also enjoyed the Dante castle, the
Paleontological Museum and the fossils of insects and
fish exhibited. Furthermore the scenery of landslides
existing in the area of Pesaro and generally along the
Adriatic Coast was spectacular.
