The Opening Ceremony will be held on Friday, March 9 at the Sea Country Senior and Community Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Seniors, age 55 and older, will compete in a number of sports including billiards, table tennis, bocce ball, pickleball, soccer, and swimming on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11. Resident registration begins on Monday, January 22, and on Monday, February 5 for non-residents at Crown Valley Park's Registration Office and at the Sea Country Senior and Community Center. The registration fee is $10 for non- residents and is free for Laguna Niguel residents. For more information, visit the City's website. SunPointe Development Project Tabled For Now On January 16, the City Council unanimously voted to table the public hearing for the proposed SunPointe project at the request of nearby residents. The development team had requested a third continuance of the public hearing in hopes of building support for the project with continued public outreach. When the development team is prepared to proceed, a new public hearing date will be set and notifications will be placed in the newspaper and sent to nearby residents at least 21 days in advance of the new hearing date. C ity C ouncil Approves the Sizes of New Entry Monument Signs In early January, the City solicited community feedback regarding the proposed size of new entry signs that will be installed at nine entrance points to the City. Community members were encouraged to drive by sign "mock-ups" temporarily erected on Crown Valley Parkway, north of Camino Del Avion, and provide their preference for either 8' or 10' tall entry monument signs.
