(Continued from page 1) On September 26, Military Support Committee members and volunteers were hard at work once again collecting items at the Homecoming Kit Drive. Volunteers stationed at Albertsons’ stores on Alicia Parkway and Marina Hills, collected $2,380 in donations and enough personal hygiene items to fill 17 large boxes. The items will be sorted into welcome home packets and placed in the barracks of the single Marines with the 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment. The Regiment has been on a six-month deployment to Australia and is scheduled to return some time in October. The City extends its deep appreciation to Albertsons’ for its tremendous support of this event. So what’s next for the Military Support Committee? Coming up in November 11 is the annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Sea Country Senior & Community Center (see flyer for details). The Committee will also kick-off its annual Holiday Toy Drive that day at WalMart, with two additional drives scheduled for Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15th.
