INTRODUCTION
This article provides an informative synopsis of the
design and construction of the longest suspension
bridge in Africa. Not only for Africa but also for the
rest of the world it represented a real challenge to
‘’tame’’ the bridge because of the cyclone
phenomenon loads - Mozambique is in an area in
which cyclones originate (see below).
