The shaped towers were driven by load and
construction as well as visual theme. These towers
were an evolution of my approach on the earlier Wadi
Leban and Bahrain bridges and later further evolved
on Wadi Abdoun Bridge.
Slender towers with saddles have been one of my
design signatures for 30 years but one which has been
appropriate for locations and with benefits that
others are now also adopting.
