ITTA Pondicherry to organize COMPEX – 2017
The
Information
Technology Traders’ Association( ITTA) of Pondicherry is organizing COMPEX – 2017 expo from January 6 to 8, 2017, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister, V. Narayanasamy. The venue of the expo is Jayaram Kalyana Mandapam.
It is being viewed as a major sourcing centre by distributors, channel partners, resellers, system integrators and solution providers who will be participating. It will also act as a platform for new alliances, business deals and marketing opportunities to the consumers and the vendors participating in the meetings, publicity, visibility and branding.
The expo will consist of 60 stalls of computer hardware, software, power conditioner, office automation, solar energy systems, security and surveillance, communication products. The event is expected to attract computer enthusiasts, IT managers, CEOs, executives and decision-makers from all sectors.
The Association is planning to showcase products from major vendors, including Dell, Apple, HP, Samsung, Asus, Acer, Wipro, Epson, Canon, TVS-E and Tally along with many other suppliers to cater to the needs of all walk-ins. The venue has two floors that can accommodate 60 stalls and the organizers expect more than 25,000 walk-ins this year.
The expo is also likely to offer attractive gifts, freebies, bundled offers, including attractive prices on several IT products. The annual event has generated good interest in recent times with sponsorship ranging from Rs. 2,00,000, Rs. 1,00,000 Rs. 75,000 as prime, co-sponsor and branding booster, respectively this time round.
A footfall of 25,000 is expected from Pondicherry, Cuddalore, Tindivanam, Neyveli and Chidambaram.
Kaspersky Lab Cyber Security Weekend raises Cyber security issues
The annual Kaspersky Lab
Cyber Security Weekend for Asia-Pacific Countries took place from 5 – 8 October, 2016 in Bali, Indonesia, and attracted industry professionals and journalists with the aim of raising awareness about cybersecurity issues, highlighting the current IT threats affecting the region and sharing advice on how to mitigate them. Special attention was paid to financial threats that are on the rise globally and in APAC, posing a high risk to organizations and individuals.

Kaspersky Security Network( KSN) cloud service statistics for July-September 2016 were unveiled at the event, showing that in selected Asia-Pacific countries( Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam), an average of 49 % of users encountered security incidents related to local networks and removable media, and 17 % of users faced web-related threats that were blocked by Kaspersky Lab solutions.
