Ratty & Kitty

Having friends and a company is one way of God’s way of showing us that we are blessed and not alone. God used our friends as an instrument to guide us and make us happy in our miserable days, like the story of Ratty and Kitty. Ratty is a rat that stays in an abandoned house. Ratty looks for food all day and makes himself at home at night. Ratty likes to be alone and have his own privacy with no one else to disturbed him.

One day a cat named Kitty passed by to the abandoned house where ratty stays in and because it is raining, Kitty decided to stay without knowing Ratty that stay in there too.

When Kitty gets inside the abandoned house, she lays on the floor to warm herself because of the rain. She felt the hunger, cold and loneliness. Ratty feeling scared, he hid in a hole where he sleeps but Kitty heard him.

Ratty step out, looking scared to Kitty but he saw Kitty feeling terrible and weak. Ratty offered her food, gave some blanket to warm her up and keep her company. Beyond all the weirdness and desperation, Kitty saw the goodness of Ratty. Even knowing that kitty will probably eat him, he offered friendship and the benefit of the doubt. After that night, Ratty let Kitty to stay in to the house with him for her to have a new place to stay and they become friends since.

We people are very hard to let someone in to our lives. We begin to doubt and ask questions if this person is really appropriate or deserving to be our friend. But this story tells us that we should not think twice but give ourselves a chance to be good to someone without knowing what might happen because this chance might be good not only to them but also to us and it may being a good and special friendship that we never expected.
