The authenticity of the island is also seen in the ruins of
ancient Roman buildings in the port of Rogac; going to
Gorje Sela you will see the ruins of the old village center in
place of a castle with two towers.
The Emperor Diocletian himself recognized the qualities
that brought the island and its environment. A legacy he
left us fishponds. You can see these fishponds in the seabed
close to Necujam, in the bay of Piškera.
Regarding agriculture, the island is rich in vineyards, olive
and fig trees. Special mention is to bring to its olive oil,
which is by far one of the best in the region, and honey
which features delicate aromas of flowers.
By area, it is the smallest of the four islands near Split.
Although its population is sometimes up to 10 times during
the summer months, the island of Solta is not, like its
neighboring islands, taken by mass tourism. Tourist
activities are still quite poor, for accommodations only a
few very nice hotels that offer services on top. Proposals
apartment rental are also very interesting.
Taking the ferry from Split is Rogac as you arrive, it's one
of the main villages of the island, but the tourist center of
the island is Necujam, which offers various tourist facilities
and that a huge complex of more than 1,000 rooms, and is

Maslinica village, located west of the island is recognizable
