Introduction Have you ever thought about the amount of calories you consume and the amount of calories that you should actually take in? Maybe sometimes you take in to your system more calories than what you should eat according to your weight and height. Of course, it also depends on the amount of exercise you do and about our different metabolisms. All of this can be calculated using as a base your height and weight, also the amount of exercise you do during the week, after this getting your BMR and with that data you can easily determine the proper amount of calories you should take in to your system in a daily basis. Metabolism: The sum of the physical and chemical processes in an organism by which its material substance is produced, maintained, and destroyed, and by which energy is made available. Daily Caloric Needs: The amount of calories your body needs to intake in order to have energy for the day as well as to maintain your actual weight. Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): The rate at which energy is expended in a basal condition, calculated as calories per hour per square meter of body surface and compared with a normal standard expressed as the percentage above or below the amount of oxygen normally used at rest, −15 to +5 percent being considered normal.
