CLIMATE The climate of Japan is cold in the north (where snow and ice dominate in winter), temperate in the central regions, and almost tropical on the small southern islands. The rains are abundant almost everywhere, and between summer and autumn the country is hit by torrential rains and typhoons. A good time to visit Japan is the month of May (which in the north of the country is also the driest month of the year), and also the first part of June, because it's a comfortable climate almost everywhere. In May, highs are around 17 °C (63 °F) in Sapporo, 23 °C (73 °F) in Tokyo, and 27 °C (81 °F) in Okinawa. In April, the weather may still be cold on the island of Hokkaido. LANDMARKS If I had the opportunity to visit Japan I would not miss the following places : Tokyo (it seems to me the most beautiful city in the world) , Miyajima Island and Osaka . I would also like to visit different temples like Kiyomizu-dera , Kinkakuji , Senso-ji Temple and many others.
