Maria Papaphilippou is a Cybersecurity Officer at ENISA , the EU Agency for Cybersecurity .
Within ENISA ’ s policy development and implementation unit , she is leading the activities relating to the health sector and focuses on the finance , and telecommunications sectors as well .
In the past , she held positions within the big 4 and the financial sector , which included advisory and consulting , information security and information systems audit .
Maria holds a BSc in Computer Science from the university of Piraeus , Greece , and a MSc in Network Centred Computing from the university of Reading , UK .

Maria ’ s presentation defined the EU policy and regulatory framework relevant to healthcare cybersecurity , such as the NIS Directive and the Medical Devices Regulation ( MDR ).
Interesting information was also provided with regards to the evolving cybersecurity threat landscape , the respective challenges in health , real life examples of threats and risks , as well as information on significant incidents reported by the member states in the past years .
ENISA ’ s activities in the health sector were also outlined , such as the reports published by ENISA , the annual eHealth Security Conference , and Cyber Europe exercise 2022 which focused on the health sector .
