Question : What ’ s your name ? How old are you ? Which country do you come from ? How many years had you been living in Greece ? Which generation of migrants do you come from ?
Dafni : I am Dafni Mitridou , and I am 15 years old . I was born and grown up in Greece but I am coming from Romania as well .
Q : What kind of things did you take with you when you left your country ?
D : When I left Greece , I took some toys , many photos , clothes that I don ’ t wear but I keep because my grandpa gave them to me .
Q : Would you like to change country ?
D : To be honest , I would like to come back to New Moudania because I miss many people who live there .
Q : Were you welcome in the country of your new settlement ? Were you bullied in the new country ?
D : Yes I was and I wasn ’ t bullied by anyone . There were many people that took care of me and loved me .
Q : For what reasons did you leave your mother country ?
D : Because Greece was going through a financial crisis and my parents believed that it would be better to go somewhere else .
Q : What is your family ’ s situation like ? Were there mixed weddings ?
D : No , there weren ’ t any mixed weddings . Q : Did you adapt easily to the new country ? How long did it take you to adapt there ? D : It didn ’ t take me much time to adapt because it was easy . I think it took me about one year . Q : What is your opinion about migration ? Do you feel comfortable talking about your mother country ?
D : I don ’ t have any particular opinion about migration . Generally migration , is something that every person experiences differently .
Q : Were you integrated in the new country regarding to customs , language , religion , daily life , food and the way of life in general ?
D : Yes I was integrated easily because actually the Germans don ’ t have as many customs as the Greeks . Moreover , regarding my daily routine , now I have much more things to do in comparison to what I was doing in Greece .
Q : What is your interaction with local citizens ?
D : I have many friends that make me feel comfortable and help me in whatever I can ’ t do on my own .
