Electric Scooters
History of Electric Scooter and Motorcycles
The first electric motorcycle was patented by Ogden Bolton Jr., on
September 19, 1895; the following November of the same year there was
another patent filed for an electric bike by a Hosea W. Libbey of Boston.
Then in London, England in 1896, the bicycle manufacture known as
Humber showed the exhibit of an electric Tandem bicycle during the
Stanley Cycle Show. This electric bicycle was powered by batteries and
had a motor in front of the rear wheel. There was a speed control
resistance that was placed across the handle bars, this electric tandem
bicycle was originally designed to use at the racetrack.
Electric Scooter in Modern Day
Currently electric scooter and motorcycles are becoming the new mode
of transportation options. Because of overcrowded streets and the rising
costs of gasoline, many people are parking their gas powered vehicles
and buying a more economical electric scooter for everyday, short trips
around town.
Electric scooters are economical, dependable, and require very little
maintenance. Electric scooters are great transportation if you are a
student or work in an office. You can ride your scooter in the bicycle
lane and bi-pass all that congested traffic on the street, getting to work
on time and home even quicker.
