SIGNS OF DYSLEXIA AT DIFFERENT
AGES
Dyslexia signs in preschool He often pronounces words incorrectly,
like saying beddy tear instead of teddy bear. His doctor considered
that he "spoke late" (he said very few words when he was two years
old) and had trouble saying words with precision (he used "baby
language"). He often has trouble naming familiar objects with the
naked eye, often saying general words such as thing and that
instead of naming objects. He has trouble learning a new word,
even after he has tried to teach it many times. He has trouble
learning lullabies or the lyrics of rhyming songs, and has difficulty
recognizing and producing rhymes. He has difficulty remembering
sequences, such as singing the letters of the alphabet or saying the
days of the week in the correct order. He often tells stories that are
hard to follow, having trouble telling an event in the correct order.
He has problems to follow instructions with multiple steps. He can
not point out his name and has trouble writing it.
