SIGNS OF DYSLEXIA AT DIFFERENT AGES Dyslexia signs in preschool He often pronounces words incorrectly, like saying beddy tear instead of teddy bear. His doctor considered that he "spoke late" (he said very few words when he was two years old) and had trouble saying words with precision (he used "baby language"). He often has trouble naming familiar objects with the naked eye, often saying general words such as thing and that instead of naming objects. He has trouble learning a new word, even after he has tried to teach it many times. He has trouble learning lullabies or the lyrics of rhyming songs, and has difficulty recognizing and producing rhymes. He has difficulty remembering sequences, such as singing the letters of the alphabet or saying the days of the week in the correct order. He often tells stories that are hard to follow, having trouble telling an event in the correct order. He has problems to follow instructions with multiple steps. He can not point out his name and has trouble writing it.
