The Alliance Catholic Worker
The Alliance Catholic Worker is a community supported, grassroots effort that follows in the
footsteps of The Catholic Worker Movement, and its founders Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin.
The Catholic Worker was founded on the gentle personalism of traditional Catholicism and a sense
of personal obligation for looking after the needs of our brothers and sisters. We believe in the daily
practice of the Works of Mercy and the operation of Houses of Hospitality for the immediate relief
of those who are in need. Our goal is to create a new society within the shell of the old with the
philosophy of the new.
“The greatest challenge of the day is: how to bring about a revolution of the heart, a revolution
which has to start with each one of us?” - Dorothy Day
