Turner’s history of community outreach goes
back more than 40 years to the days when major
projects in urban areas were carried out with little
community involvement. Turner made its presence
known, stayed visible, and forged links with the
community. Subsequently, Turner produced a
nationally renowned community affairs program
that has garnered numerous national awards. We
participate in and sponsor a variety of programs at
the local level from Rebuilding Together San Diego
to collecting toys for Toys for Tots at all our jobsites,
and we continue to support and develop national
initiatives such as YouthForce 2020, the Ace Mentor
program, and the Turner School of Construction
Management.
For the last three years, Turner has been named one
of diversitybusiness.com’s Top 50 Organizations
for Multicultural Business Opportunities. The
list, known as the Div50, includes organizations
selected through an online survey of more than
1.2 million woman and minority-owned businesses
across many market sectors. The chosen companies
and organizations distinguish themselves by
establishing and maintaining the most mutually
beneficial relationships with diversity suppliers and
subcontractors.
