Consistent with the requirements
of General Order (GO) 156 – the
Commission’s Utilities Supplier
Diversity Program, on October
8, 2015, the Commission held its
13th Annual Supplier Diversity En
Banc, entitled “General Order156
– A Roadmap for Excellence.”
The hearing was held at the
South San Francisco Conference
Center in South San Francisco.
Over 225 people strong attended
this year’s hearing, including
diverse suppliers and small
businesses, utility executives and
community based organizations,
among others interested in
supplier diversity. See photos.
President Picker opened the
hearing with welcome remarks
and provided an overview of the
hearing. He said the purpose was
to discuss the diversity program
and get a closer look at how GO
156 is being implemented. And to
hear from the community based
organizations and others to focus
on the impact the program has had
on the community, consumers,
and diverse businesses. More
importantly, to hear from the CEOs,
Presidents, and representatives
of the investor-owned utilities
to get their vision on creating
contracting opportunities and
