Leading the Way Organizational Change can be Exciting and Successful

As we know in business , change management is an approach to transitioning individuals , teams , and organizations to a desired state .
As the Founder and President of the former San Diego & Imperial Counties Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors , I saw our organization experiencing much growth since its inception in November of 2011 .
Our organizational and mission changes are minor in nature ; however , we remain committed to the core values of the national organization that was our start . The changes that are ahead will provide the positive enhancement we feel is necessary for the sake of increased future organizational success .
NAMC San Diego & Imperial Counties chapter as a local Chapter affiliate of NAMC National , and it is our intent to continue supporting NAMC National ’ s objectives that we share in common .
Boy , time sure flies when you are having fun ! However , in the midst of all the great times and achievements that our Board , Committee and General members made collectively , I felt it time to introduce a new approach in representing a broader spectrum of the diverse business world .
We have been able to harvest enough forward momentum , community and political support , as well as organizational peer approval to move in some exciting new directions .
Due to our experiences within the chapter , the expert opinions provided by our close supporters in the community , as well as member feedback regarding industry and business trends and their efforts to grow their business in a diverse world , we have decided to raise the bar and expand our organization to be more inclusive of vast industry types and members nationwide .
Website Changes to Reflect New Direction
Our website , the one you have enjoyed and found useful according to viewer feedback , will undergo many revisions over the next few month to reflect this change in organizational direction . Sections such as mission , committees , resources , events and our community section , will be updated and enhanced .
A small group of thoughtful people could change the world . Indeed , it ' s the only thing that ever has .

I invite you to provide input , ideas , and suggestions for our website and , as always , Dy- NAMC Leaders for a Changing World magazine .
Moving forward , if you send us your speaking engagements or presentations , we will post those and other pertinent business information in a special section on events both on the NAMC website , if you are a member , and in DyNAMC Leaders for a Changing World magazine .
Our mission all along has been to mentor , educate , advocate for , and provide resources needed to support minority contractors . Board Members , Committee Chairs and I felt that it is in the best interest of our mission and objectives that we expand our mission to become more inclusive of all diverse businesses across all industry types .
As a result of great minds coming together , on August 27 , 2013 , we officially became the National Association of Minority Companies , Inc .
Concluding Thoughts
We are very excited about these developments , embracing the changes as opportunities for organizational growth and diverse business relevancy .
While we move forward with our continued mission , which includes building leadership , increasing opportunities and supporting initiatives for diverse business enterprises , we look forward to taking this journey along with you .
