Transportation Names Bus Driver
of the Year
Gary Young’s coworkers
chose him as the 2018
Duncanville ISD Bus
Driver of the Year. His
peers say he is well
respected and takes
pride in transporting
his students safely.
“He knows every route,
and he can drive any
of the many different
types of buses in the
district,” said Operations Manager Mac Mcgee.
Duncanville ISD’s Risk Management Department,
in conjunction with the district’s insurer, Property
Casualty Alliance of Texas, annually nominates a
Bus Driver of the Year.
Nominations are evaluated based on five

attributes:
leadership, attitude,
perseverance,
student and parent
relationships and
technical skill.
Exceptional drivers
demonstrate a
consistent desire to
positively influence
both students and
co-workers through
their actions and attitudes.
