Girls Relay Team Wins State,
Sets Best Time in Nation
“I’m blown away by the
girls’ ability to fight back
and overcome the adversity
they faced as a team.”
The Duncanville Girls Track team finished an
amazing spring season in 3rd place overall at the State
meet in Austin and is nationally ranked.
Dy’Mond Wiley, Arius Williams, Tynecia Singletary,
and Alexis Cokes took the State Championship in the
4x200 relay setting the best time in the nation this
season at 1:35:05.
Dy’Mond Wiley, Payge Side, Tynecia Singletary, and
Arius Williams brought home the silver medal after
placing 2nd in the 4x400 relay.
Seniors Alexis Cokes and Payge Side finished 5th in
the 100 and 200 meters. “But I’m blown away by the girls’ ability to fight back
and overcome the adversity they faced as a team.”
“As a coach, State was a roller coaster ride with highs
and lows,” said Head Coach Yvette Green. “I am very proud of these amazing Panthers. Thank
you, Duncanville for all of the support,” Green added.
