to accompany us ,” Briscoe said . “ It is a pretty special formal event and we want it to do two things — we want to bring the community together to worship God and then we also want it to be something our community can be proud of , to participate in and to allow us an opportunity to experience God ’ s presence .”
A Cantata , usually a “ medium-length narrative piece of music for voices with instrumental accompaniment , typically with solos , chorus and orchestra ,” is a form of music that has been around for many generations . Briscoe said this year will feature traditional carols with a little bit of narration in different settings to make the whole program .
“ This year ’ s program is a lot of traditional carols and there is a little bit of narration in there as well ,” Briscoe said . “ They will be in different settings , which will be fresh and new to most people . So they are going to hear traditional sacred Christmas carols with a new arrangement
