Over the course of several years , one local couple has embraced the opportunity to turn scary situations into memorable and happy times .

After setting up Halloween shenanigans for nearly 22 years , Charles and Jennifer Morris , of Duncan , remain dedicated to bringing a little extra family fun to the community through more than just spooky scares . After putting on a haunted house each year , they take a portion of their earnings and use it to benefit families at Christmas . They also help throughout the year when community members may need a hand with a bill .
The Morris family began their Christmas mission just a few years after they launched their haunted yard at their house . Charles said when they first started their Halloween festivities in 1997 , they had

such great feedback from the community they soon needed a larger space .
A couple years later , they teamed up with Oakridge Volunteer Fire Department to make this a larger production and charge admission .
