direction and continue expanding the village since its creation . The village takes on a different look each season , and during Christmas time it lights up and features trees and snowmen .
Neta said she has received the houses and village accessories from family members , whether for a holiday or just a typical day because they know how much she loves them .
She has also picked up accessories for her village via magazine shopping , sales catalogs or shopping visits . Many of these magical figures have come from Texas and Oklahoma .
According to Neta , she finds a place for whatever catches her eye .
One of their more recent purchases came from a recent trip to Ireland . While the couple was in a small village there , she spotted two little fairies .
“ I kept seeing these fairies in little plants and things flying around ,” she said .
She thought they were truly magical and that they would make a great addition to the fairy
village in the backyard .
The village garden has even become home to little fairy replicas , like fairy wasps or fairy flies , which are a small featherywinged insect that fly around the garden .
According to Neta , the little transparent bugs that fly around the garden give her the feeling that the fairies are close by .
Recently , Neta said , she received a hanging bell from a friend to add to her garden bliss .
“ They say if you hear a slight tinkling of a bell , that it means a fairy is near ,” she said .
Her favorite spot , Neta said , is the farm village — specifically
“ the animals and the vegetable garden .”
Now that winter is approaching , Neta has once again put out her miniature Christmas trees around the village .
Other trees , Neta said , like her bonsais , work well with the weather in the outdoor village . She said she ’ s also had little Japanese Maple seeds sprout in the yard that provide greenery .
Tiny animal figurines surround the village as well , including dogs and a cat near the farmhouse .
Night lights are included , of course , because if you ’ re privy to fairy lore , then you know they mostly come out at night . There ’ s also a fire pit for chillier nights . “ It ’ s just relaxing and very enjoyable ,” she said .
Some components , Neta said , have faded or been removed over the years as a result of weather , but the houses stand strong still .
Currently , the Kellys have around 14 houses inside the village they ’ ve created , and they also have plans to continue expansion well into the future . DM
