courts also received a resurface job also , Reed said . One of the tennis courts , according to Reed , will eventually become the Pickle Ball Court .
Additionally , the creek has been refurnished to become a catch and release fishing place .
Along with those amenities , a sand volleyball court , a driving range — which is up and running , according to Reed — and a chipping and putting green surface will also join the line up .
A hallmark to the parks , the ball fields also received some tender love and car . Reed said crews fully redid the area , from the fields to new dugouts .
Plans in the future include one or two tournaments a month on the fields along with live entertainment and food trucks some Friday and Saturday nights .
DPSAC will have a membership fee with day passes available to help keep the upkeep of the park possible and Reed believes the packages they will offer are reasonable for any family .
Currently the prices are $ 30 a month for a base family package with a charge of $ 40 a month for a family fun package , which will include one free round per week on the mini-golf course .
There will be discounts for memberships for military and first responders with proof , according to Reed , which includes 20 % off . They will also have individual and couple packages available though
prices are not yet set .
The day fee will range anywhere from $ 5-15 depending on the activities and full and part-time staff will remain on the premises to help keep the park beautiful and in use properly .
Reed , who will manage the day-to-day operations along with his crew , said the Billings are great to work with and feels their vision matches his .
“ They are huge staples in our community … they are great people to work for and great people to know to begin with ,” Reed said . “ Number one , we need a place for kids to be able to go and do something . If the kids are busy , they will stay out of trouble . If we have a safe , family friendly place that parents won ’ t have to worry about them safety wide , this would be the place for it . Our hopes and dreams are that it will become one of the biggest attractions not only in Oklahoma , but for sure Southwest Oklahoma . I think we are growing and we have the right backing as far as the owners ’ vision and our vision to be able to do that .”
Right now hours will last from 3-9 p . m . to start . The grand opening is scheduled tentatively April 30 with plans to make it a celebration .
