You could say Dr . Channa Byerly has always had a love for learning and for teaching .
Byerly , who stepped into the Duncan Public Schools ( DPS ) superintendent role in July 2022 , earned her first bachelor ’ s degree in general finance from University of Central Oklahoma in 2003 followed by a M . B . A . in business administration and management from Northeastern State University in 2007 .
She started climbing Duncan ’ s secondary education ranks in 2012 when she began as a math teacher and coach .
