“ We will have a bigger parking lot, 36 to 40 tables and our bar is going to expand and so is our kitchen area for our employees,” she said.
While the restaurant will get a new look, the menu will see some old favorites, as well as a few new items.
When the idea of starting the restaurant first initiated, Ingram said the space was their tractor business, then they bought property up on the hill and moved everything. She said the space became like a storage unit.
Ingram said the couple needed to do something different with the space.
“ We just thought we’ d try and see,” she said.
Since opening the restaurant, Ingram said she enjoys the people.
“ I like giving to people,” she said.“ They all come in here and they eat and I get to visit with some of our new, our old people that came in here.”
With around 20 staff, Ingram said there’ s employees who work the kitchen, bakery, dishwashing, the salad bar, servers and hostesses who rotate and other areas.
Ingram said she was motivated to open the restaurant because she wanted to try something new. She said the community has been responsive and they get a lot of customers coming from Duncan, Velma, Marlow, Medicine Park, Ryan, Cache, Waurika as well as from Texas. She said the restaurant also had a couple from Florida visit. Some of the favorite meals at the steakhouse are the chicken tenders, ribeye and the salad bar, Ingram said.
She said each night is different and the 12-inch chicken fried steak sells the most. She said this meal covers the whole plate.
“ We have to have another plate for our side,” she said.
In the new building, Ingram said a larger salad bar is in the works.
Popular desserts are the peach cobbler, bread pudding and a recently added a cheesecake and ice cream.
Ingram said the steaks are not frozen and are delivered every Wednesday. She said the restaurant has no frozen meat.
“ It’ s all delivered on Wednesdays and Fridays,” she said.
Along with fresh meat, Ingram said the steakhouse serves real potatoes and has a fresh salad bar daily.
The new space will have a patio with a fireplace.
Ingram said the entire west side of the building will be in glass to see what’ s happening outside, as well as to overlook the pond.
With activities on the south side by the pond, Ingram said people can enjoy the outdoors and play games. She said the space will have picnic tables underneath an awning by the westside of the building.
“ There’ s a bandstand that’ s going to be there,” she said.“ We’ re going bring bands back in and we got a lot of new stuff we’ re bringing in.”
She said there’ s also a nine hole putting course in the plans.
Additionally, the space will have a designated space for kids to play.
