In developing a community of readers and engaging young minds , area leaders work to bring opportunities to young children through a national reading program . This includes three women with big hearts for learning and kids at the forefront : Kelle Jeffrey , Nancy Bowling and Judy Dittner .
Co-organizer and Duncan Public Schools Pre-K Principal Kelle Jeffrey said the Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a book gifting program that keeps the giving going and the Imagination Library of Stephens County will do just that .
“ Imagination Library is Dolly Parton ’ s organization established in 1995 that brings reading right to the mailbox of the child registered ,” she said . “ Right now , Stephens County is in the fundraising piece of this opportunity .”
Jeffrey said as an advocate for early childhood , she ’ s devoted much of her life to education , alongside her co-directors and educators , Nancy Bowling and Judy Dittner .
“ We see the need for books in homes with kids ,”
