Rochell entered the Free Fair pageant for three years and was crowned Miss Stephens County Free Fair for 2025.
During the pageant, contestants were judged by their interview, casual wear, party wear. Additionally, girls were chosen for the Miss Photogenic category by age group which was based off of submitted photographs.
Rochell said representing the title over the past year means the world to her.
“ I am just excited to be crowned to represent something that I am so passionate about,” she said.“ I would like to say thank you to my family and friends for supporting me with everything that I want to do— and to the Derryberry family for keeping this pageant going for all these years.”
As the Stephens County Free Fair Queen, Rochell assisted with check-ins, distribute ribbons and attend the Fair Workers Dinner.
“ I’ ve been coming to the fair my entire life,” she said.“ Being crowned means I get to represent something I’ m truly passionate about.”
In the past four years, Rochell said she traveled as far as Alabama to compete in the Miss United States Agriculture Pageant.
By participating in these pageants, Rochell has gained a variety of skills, such as public speaking, confidence, responsibility, time management and leadership. She said she’ s also learned about professional development, caring for animals and forming relationships.
“ I’ m so thankful for my family and friends who support me in everything I do,” she said.
A new Stephens County Free Fair Queen will take the crown and continue the legacy at the 24th Annual Stephens County Free Fair Pageant Aug. 1.
