found some at estate sales, garage sales and other places.
He said if he comes across something he likes, he will continue to add to the records.
With selling records falling in his and his wife, Elizabeth’ s, laps, Hibbard said the store was getting known as a place to find vintage vinyl.
Brian said the collection is nearly 3,000 to 4,000 records, noting there’ s a lot he’ s never heard of. He said it’ s interesting to go through the process of sorting them and looking them up by genre.
“ I had no idea that there was such a thing as Krautrock, which is German psychedelic rock from the late 60s, early 70s,” he said.
Hibbard said he now knows the value records can hold for people.
“ You just get a feel for certain things after a while,” he said.“ Older British import records, albums pressed in England, and then shipped over where they just have a different look and feel to the covers of them, different materials used.”
Hibbard said he’ s always enjoyed music.
“ I love music and I always have, always will,” he said.“ It’ s the same way with VHS and DVDs and all kinds of physical media.
“ I’ m just a sucker for
that kind of thing, and I’ ve always liked it,” he said.
Aside from records,. Hibbard said the store stocks other media, like DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes and some 8-tracks.
Primarily, as a cigar shop, Hibbard said the store sells premium cigars, pipe tobacco, pipes and more. He said there is also a selection of men’ s grooming and shaving items, hats and t-shirts.
With a goal to add more men’ s gifts, Hibbard said the store stocks some fedoras and the driving caps and more like“ manly” scented candles.
Additionally, Mr. B’ s Cigars stocks gourmet coffee – whole beans or ground.
He said there’ s a little bit of everything and a whole lot to look at and reminisce about in the store.
He noted it’ s an awesome feeling to see customers’ eyes“ light up” when they come through the door of the new location.
Hibbard said the lounge, like the humidor, will be open to anyone who is over 21 years old.
“ The storefront is open to all ages,” he said.
