Chairman’s Message
The theme for this year’s Duffield Carnival is “Around
the World,” giving a wonderful excuse to dress up and
show how diverse and colourful this planet we live on is!
Remember those in fancy dress gain free access to the
carnival!
Carnival Day will start with the procession through the
village to Eyes Meadow. This year the procession will start
slightly earlier (12.45pm) than in previous years to assist
in making sure everyone gets the most out of our packed
series of events during the afternoon.
Chris Johnson
Of course we must not forget it is not just a Carnival Day, there is a whole week
of events suitable for all ages as can be seen from the list of activities and events
during the preceding week within these pages.
The Carnival is the success it is due to the commitment of all those involved
therefore I would like to thank all the companies and individuals who in the past
and those who continue to support us through advertising in this programme or by
donation of time and equipment.
My biggest thank you is to Nigel Hooker and his amazing Carnival Crew who have
worked incredibly hard over the last six months to ensure the week of events
culminating in Carnival day is a great success.
The Community Association is a voluntary non-profit organisation formed over 40
years ago with a remit to enhance the life of our village and as such is reliant on
volunteers. If you would like to join us, please contact myself on: 01332 843348.
Have a fantastic week!
