Doug Austin named Dublin’ s Business Person of the Year

Help celebrate Doug’ s contributions to Dublin at the Business After Hours & Business Person of the Year Reception on March 14 from 5:30 to 7 p. m. hosted by Embassy Suites.
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce board of directors is proud to announce that Doug Austin, IGS Energy executive vice president and chief sales officer, has been selected to receive Dublin’ s 2017 Business Person of the Year Award. The Business Person of the Year Award is presented annually to an individual who has positively contributed to the betterment of Dublin.
The business community is invited to join the Chamber as Doug Austin is presented with this award on March 14 from 5:30 to 7 p. m. hosted by Embassy Suites, 5100 Upper Metro Pl. in Dublin. Reservations are required and can be made online at www. DublinChamber. org.

Doug joined IGS in 1992 and has been instrumental in helping IGS grow from a small start-up business with only four employees to a company with a large, diversified product portfolio that employs more than 750 people located in 20 offices, doing business in 14 states. In 2011, Doug became chief sales officer for the Commercial and Industrial Sales division of the company. Under his leadership, this division has grown by more than 300 percent in the last six years, and currently generates more than $ 700 million in sales revenue annually.
Doug is committed to the Dublin community and is involved with a number of organizations that promote area businesses. Doug served on the Board of Directors for the Dublin Chamber of Commerce from 2012 – 2016, attends Chamber events regularly, organizes a volunteer group every year for the Chamber’ s Community Service Day and is a strong advocate for the Chamber’ s
Leadership Dublin Executive Program and NextGen Dublin Leadership Academy. He also supports IGS’ involvement in many community events including the Dublin Irish Festival and Bike Dublin Tour.
Doug sits on the Business Advisory Council for Dublin City Schools and is a Board Member of Recreation Unlimited, whose mission is to provide year-round programs in sports, recreation, and education for individuals with disabilities and health concerns. He is also on the Board of Directors for IGS Energy and the Saven Corporation and has served on the board of the Ohio Gas Association.
A native of Dublin since 1987, Doug and his wife, Tracy, have three children, Alyssa, Jack and Jeff. Doug graduated from Ohio University with a degree in communications.
