President’ s Message
Powerful momentum flourishes in 2017 for the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and the business community with a wealth of business development opportunities and events for members.
You will want to include the March 14 Business After Hours & Business Person of the Year Reception on your calendar. In addition to an enjoyable reception where you can partake in socializing, networking and delicious food and beverages— you will get an opportunity to meet Dublin’ s 2017 Business Person of the Year, Doug Austin with IGS Energy. This award is presented annually to an individual who has done an outstanding job in contributing to the betterment of Dublin’ s business community.
I also want to spotlight our Dublin Chamber Leadership Executive Program— a training program designed to educate and inspire leaders for community service. This eight-month program( October through May) is geared toward giving members the tools needed to become active and influential leaders in the Dublin community. The 2017 class is in full swing with attendees learning about local government, the education sector, area businesses, community social issues, leadership skills and group dynamics.
One of the flagship projects to have come from this leadership program is Community Service Day where volunteers of all ages help seniors, non-profits and residents in need with spring clean-up and outdoor projects. The event will take place on May 6 from 8:30 a. m. to noon and it is a great way for you to get involved in our community and give back. Invite your family, co-workers and neighbors to join you.
Find out more about upcoming events and programs at DublinChamber. org or by calling the Chamber directly at 614-889-2001. Your input and ideas are always welcomed and encouraged!
