It allows students to take post-secondary ( college-level ) classes at a technical or community college . Student grades of “ C ” or higher are posted to an official NWTC transcript that becomes a part of the student ’ s official college record . TC agreements are transferrable to other Wisconsin technical colleges and may transfer to fouryear universities as well . The high school district pays for textbooks and any course resource expenses , but there is no tuition charged to the school district or student .
YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP ( YA ) - Wisconsin ’ s Youth Apprenticeship program is part of a statewide school-towork initiative . It is designed for high school students who want hands on learning in an occupational area at a worksite along with technical instruction . The technical instruction can be offered through high school or college courses . The program is managed by different consortiums , or organizations , and its availability differs by school district . If you think you might be interested in a Youth Apprenticeship option , contact your school counselor to see what is available .
