APPRENTICESHIP ( YA )
Wisconsin ’ s Youth Apprenticeship program is part of a statewide school-towork initiative . It is designed for high school students who want hands-on learning in an occupational area at a worksite along with technical instruction .
The technical instruction can be offered through high school or college courses . The program is managed by different consortiums , or organizations , and its availability differs by school district . If you think you might be interested in a Youth Apprenticeship option , contact your school counselor to see what is available .
WHAT IS
STARFISH ?
Starfish is an early alert system used at NWTC that helps students and teachers communicate electronically about class performance . It is also used to connect students to resources at NWTC that can help them reach their goals and be successful . Right now , Starfish is used with Start College Now or Youth Apprenticeship courses only . Starfish alerts are sent to students through their NWTC email account .
