The Du Toit Tankwa Trek is keen to give back to the local communities and with the Du Toit Group and Fairview providing their farm workers with event entries the stage was set for the big charitable event of the race, the auction of two unique works of art by the internationally renowned Richard Scott.

Scott’s recreation of the Tankwa man is to be auctioned online to raise much needed funds for Huis Maudie Kriel, the Ceres home for the elderly.

But the organisers and sponsors don’t just want to donate money, the want to be involved in the lives of the people of Huis Maudie Kriel. So they invited them out to enjoy the beautiful surrounds of Kaleo Manor on the event family day. While the children of the region enjoyed the water slides, jumping castles and pony rides the elderly were treated to a gourmet meal a Wilde Fruit Juice goody bag and a day of watching world class mountain biking.
