On November 5th, 2015 the Downtown Center Business Improvement District hosted a full day retail conference, ‘DTLA: The Future of Urban Retail’ at The
BLOC open-air retail center. The morning panels featured retail industry leaders who shed light on Downtown LA’s current retail developments and the upcoming opportunities in all corners of the burgeoning
market.
Guests were also invited to join guided bus tours of
Downtown’s distinctive retail districts to experience
first hand the outposts and landmarks that make each
unique. The conference concludes with a special cocktail reception at a downtown location to be revealed.
The conference proved that Downtown LA’s retail future is bright and unstoppable. The opening of one of
the most beautiful Whole Foods Market in Los Angeles
promises more gentrification and big brands coming
to offer services to the growing population. The 41,000
Sq Ft newly opened Whole Foods includes a restaurant and bar and Roy Choi. The Kogi founder’s restaurant Chego will be part of the prepared foods area.
Some rumors emerged about the possibility of our
own Apple Store at the corner of 8th and Broadway.
Hopefully, the Streetcars are on the way to be able to
travel to all these great new additions without having
to drive. When that happens, a real city will be created.
