Hooray, another playground has broken ground! Actually,
two are planned for Pershing Square. One for 2-5 year
old, the other 5-12. Whether you have kids or not, the
introduction of a playground into a public space benefits
everyone. It brings energy and laughter and makes us all
take a minute and remember what it is just to enjoy a
place. Opening is for this playground at the south end of
the square is scheduled for end of June. “Along with good
schools, families also need appropriate spaces to recreate. Adding a playground to this space adds one more
amenity that will make it that much more attractive to
move Downtown, and to call this urban environment their
home,” Council Jose Huizar said. I could not agree more.
