It is my pleasure to welcome you to the first issue of
DTLA LIFE. Back in the year 2000 when our company
ULTIMATE LIFE LIVING was born, we collectively real-
ized that Downtown LA living meant more than just Real
Estate sales. It was our intention and our duty to inform
those Angelenos who were interested in repopulating
our city center of what was happening right under their
feet in an old bank vault, over their heads on a neigh-
boring rooftop or about to pop up in an old rusty theatre
that had sat empty for 35 years withering away.
DTLA LIFE has now surpassed a simple newsletter up-
date and I am continually impressed as I watch history
repeat itself and our city come alive. Art, Music, Tech-
nology, Theatre, Food, Life, Style is happening all
around us and DTLA LIFE will be your go to e-magazine
for the latest news in Downtown LA. We invite you not
only to read about your favorite new venue, retail store
or loft property, but to write about it and send your arti-
cles to our offices. This magazine is not only for you to
enjoy, but to participate in with your views, ideas and
information. Join us as we bring Downtown Los Ange-
les back to life with its most precious commodity, the
