Hallucinogens in the Media
Us teenagers hear about drugs almost everywhere, on TV, in school, by our parents and many other places so it is very normal to have curiosity on what it is all about. Depending on were we hear about it, the opinions on it change, for example in TV series Drugs are usually glorified, in schools and by parents they are regarded with fear and looked down on. On the other hand the new music industry glorifies drugs (xanax, lean and molly) so this leads to huge curiosity from us teenagers, if our idol is talking about this all the time then obviously we will be very curious.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of South Park, a show aimed at teenage viewers and young adults, showed up to one of the most important Oscars, the 2000 Oscars while tripping on LSD. 11 years lather (2011) they admitted to it on the Jimmy Kimmel show and laughed at the footage they had recorded and explained the whole experiences while laughing and glorifying it.
Lil Xan, a 21 year old rapper from California recently released his hit song "betrayed" which talks about the bad things xanax can do to a person, in a interview he says "I was painfully addicted to xans for two years of my life" and the whole song talks about how xanax ruined his life and how he is very lucky to have gotten rid of his addiction. Because of this he started his movement xanarchy, a bunch of rappers joined this movement which its intentions is to make people more aware of xanax effects and stop teenagers from taking them.
