Magazine June 2013
HI THERE!
Welcome to the first video studio newsletter of 2013! We hope to give a little bit of insight to what we get up to in the warehouse-turned-studio that we call our home.
In this issue we'll meet some new starters, find out what we've all been up to and learn how to bake some cakes.
So, buckle up for a roller-coaster ride of slightly-too-built-up-for-the-reality fun!
Our little team is not so little anymore and last month we welcomed 2 new animators into our fold.
BEATA SAWKA
My name is Beata and I'm a Junior Animator at DRL.. Previously I was working as a freelancer for various companies in Manchester. I don’t like to talk about myself so if you would like to know more about me, I am always happy to go for a drink :) thanks for reading. :)
WILL SMITH
Hi my name is Will and I am an Animator at DRL Studios. My main role within the studio is animating the new hybrid reviews for Appliances Online.
In my spare time I am a keen Scuba Diver, and enjoy spending as many summer holidays in Spain as I can.

PRESENTER CORNER
Each month one of our presenters will tell us about the trials and tribulations of life in and out of the studio and external work they may have been involved in! This month, it’s Emma...
Well, for me, this month has flown by, with busy days in the studio in addition to family fun weekends, it’s been a good mix! I feel the hybrid reviews are starting to become second nature now as long as I can keep my fingers out of shot (apologies animators!) I hope the rest of the studio agrees. In the studio, we’re still trying to make the reviews more interesting and this was made more possible by the arrival of extra props, which has also transformed me into an excited child!
One final thing...I won Employee of the Month and it was lovely to hear some nice things said about me, even though they weren’t all presenter related! A nice moment (plus treats from the Tesco shop) and a reminder of the team spirit within the production team! One of the month's highlights was the group activity we did recently, as a result of the management's WHYfest event...a break from the studio, it allowed us to work in teams with those who we don’t always have too much contact with, plus it meant that our creative juices could flow.
