Driving Line VOLUME IV ISSUE 4 | FALL 2018 | Page 3
LETTER
FROM THE PUBLISHER
ON THE ROAD, IN THE DIRT
This issue is all about getting out and eating up the miles. From a purpose-built, Cummins-powered Dodge
Dually Custom (page 16) intended to devour the long Texas highways with family and cargo in tow, to Michael
Nadal’s Globex JK Jeep (page 54) that went from modified to full-buggy and then back to a more practical and
daily driven road- and trail-dominating fun machine.

EXPECTATIONS
As enthusiasts, we demand more from our vehicles and our tires than more passive drivers. We’re always looking
to be in the moment, to feel everything the car conveying to us. So when we trekked to Alaska on a 5,000-mile road
trip on our Nitto Ridge Grapplers, we expected the Jeep JL and the tire to tackle every type of terrain. It’s settings
like this where engineering and reliability are of utmost importance, but the payoff of going to such lengths is well
worth it (page 40).
BETTER WITH EVERY PASSING MILE
Just like everyone who spends endless hours after work and after dark to wrench on their latest car project,
Driving Line is created with the same passion. What makes each issue so special are the everyday car enthusiasts who
make it into these pages. Driving Line and Nitto are thankful and look forward to making real connections with all of
you—online, in print and out on the road. Throttle on.
