It was felt by the vast majority that the consultation process was too short and 12 weeks would have given them more time to read and digest the information as well as gathering feedback from members. This would be put to DSA; although it's the cabinet office that decides on time scales for consultations.
It was also felt that the consultation lacked a lot of substance. The phase used was meat on the bone. Many items because of the lack of information meant that an informed choice could not be made.
