What is Aseptic Packaging?
Aseptic packaging is a process of
filling a sterile/non-sterile product in
a sterile container/pack in a sterile
environment. Term aseptic is derived
from the ‘Greek’ word ‘Septicos’ which
means the absence of destructive
microbes. Aseptic packaging offers
several benefits to the consumer, such
as: extended shelf life with limited or no
use of preservatives; enhanced hygiene
and food safety; storage stability and
convenience even outside the cold
chain; etc.
