PUBLISHER’S NOTE
This edition of Drink Asia Magazine coincides
with the drink technology India (dti) – the
leading event dedicated to India’s beverage
and liquid food industry. It is going to be
held at the Bangalore International Expo
Centre between April 10 and 12, 2019. This
event promises to serve as a good platform
to acknowledge the needs of the Indian
beverage market and targets to provide the
visitors with a comprehensive overview of
the latest developments in the beverage
industry.
The Indian beverage industry is growing
dynamically as the demand for beverages
and liquid food products in India has been
on the rise for years. This change is taking
place because of various reasons including:
the rising population; a growing and
consumption-oriented middle class; and
the continuing urbanisation. As per the data
revealed by market research firms, the total
demand for beverages in India is expected
to increase by approximately 89 percent by

largest milk producer. On similar lines, India’s
soft drinks industry is expected to register
steady growth as it is being fuelled by social
change and strong economic growth. Also,
the latest trends like greater use of natural
ingredients including: higher juice content;
healthy-alternatives; and lower sugar content
are forcing this industry towards innovation.
The millennials in India are becoming more
health-conscious and they monitor everything
they consume. Also, they are more inclined
toward the ready-to-go options such as: easy
availability; anytime-anywhere consumption;
and convenience when it comes to food and
due to this India’s packaged drinks market has
charted a high growth trajectory.
It is evident that India is witnessing growth
in almost all beverage segments. Therefore
in order to meet the consumer’s demand
and to grow in the market, Indian beverage
companies need appropriate machinery for
the production, processing and packaging of
beverages. In this sense, India serves as one of
the most important sales markets in Asia for
companies manufacturing such equipment!
